So please, read this consent form thoroughly as these are your responsibilities as the client.
-
After your appointment, whether you receive a full set or a fill, you are to avoid getting your lashes wet or near any kind of steam for the first 24 hours.
-
Cleansing your lashes 2x daily is extremely vital to maintain the health of your natural lashes, and to help the retention of your extensions. If you wear makeup; especially eyeshadow, eyeliner, or any makeup on or around the eyes it is even more important to always cleanse your lashes. You must clean your lashes and your eyelids with oil-free makeup cleanser (ex: Oil-Free Micellar Water) or with a lash extension safe foam cleanser. *We always have our lash foam cleansers available for purchase*

When booking your fill appointments, we strongly recommend doing 2 weeks fills. Although we offer 3 week fill appointments, the further you stretch your appointments, the more lash loss you will have. A full set of lashes consists of 80-100 extensions applied to the natural lash line. You naturally shed 2-3 lashes each day, which means your extensions are shedding with your natural lashes. If you consistently come in for 2 week fills, this gives us the ability to keep your lashes looking full on a consistent basis since there is less time between appointments to shed more lashes. However, if you consistently come in for 3 week fills, you will see much more lash loss each time and this will result in you potentially being charged for a full set instead of a fill if you do not have 40% extensions on both eyes at the time of the appointment. For all appointments, we require photos of your lashes 48 hours before your scheduled appointment to ensure you have the required fill amount. Every 60-90 days you will go through a lash shedding cycle, and consistently doing 3 week fills will result in you not being able to qualify for a fill during your shedding cycle since you were not consistent with fills every 2 weeks. *Fills are touch-ups, not full reconstructions of the lash line*
For lash photos, you can send these to the office email:
nicholegrayslashstudio2@gmail.com that way we can confirm whether you have the 40% requirement or not. If you know you do not have the 40% fill requirement, it is your responsibility to make us aware so that we can reschedule your appointment or update it to a full set if our schedule permits it. If you fail to send photos, or cancel your appointment knowing you do not have the 40% fill requirement, you will be charged a $50 late cancellation fee and we will reschedule your appointment. This is due to the fact you knowingly took an appointment slot without the required fill amount, and at the time of your appointment it is too late for us to reach out to a waitlist client for them to fill in your spot if we have to cancel yours.
Example Of Lash Fill Requirement
The Natural Lash Cycle
The upper eyelid is usually framed by 90-150 lashes, while the bottom has up to 80 lashes. Growing at a rate of about 0.15mm per day, eyelashes can grow up to 9mm in length and can take about two months to regenerate when pulled out. Eyelashes are also the most pigmented out of all human hairs, which is why they don't usually turn gray. Everyone is born with a predetermined number of hair follicles, and each individual eyelash is programmed to reach a certain length before shedding. But worry not, like everything on earth, living or otherwise, eyelashes go through a natural cycle of shedding and regrowing. An average person would lose roughly 20 percent of lashes every two weeks or so.
- THE DURATION OF ANAGEN CRUCIALLY IMPACTS HAIR LENGTH
The growth phase, also called anagen, is the first stage of the lash cycle. How long anagen lasts is determined genetically and varies between the sexes and from one person to another. It usually lasts between 30-45 days. If all your lashes were in the growth phase at the same time, then they’d all be on track to fall out at the same time. Approximately 40% of upper lashes and 15% of lower lashes
- THE TRANSITION PHASE
The growth phase is followed by a short transition phase, also known as catagen. Once lashes in the growth phase reach their designated length, they stop growing, the hair follicle shrinks, and they move on to this transition phase. This phase lasts between 2-3 weeks (14-21 days). No pigment is made during this time, and the lash follicle stops producing hair. The base of the lash follicle moves upwards towards the surface of the skin. Should a lash fall out during catagen, it won’t begin growing back until this phase has run its course.
- THE RESTING/SHEDDING PHASE
-The resting/shedding phase is also known as telogen. This phase lasts 3-4 months. During this time, new hair begins to grow from the hair follicle. As it grows upwards, the old hair will shed naturally or may be pulled out. Shedding is part of the normal process of the replacement of an old lash with a new one. The new lash emerges from the same opening at the surface of the skin as the old one, and then the lash cycle begins again. In general, lashes have a lifespan of about three months but can last more than 100 days before the lash falls out, and a new one begins to grow. Because each individual lash is in its own phase of the growing cycle, it's normal for a few lashes to fall out most days. It typically takes 4-8 weeks to fully replace a lash.Keep in mind that as you age, your lash cycle can become shorter. This isn't true for everyone and depends mostly on your genes. The follicles gradually give up producing long, strong lashes, and lashes become thinner and shorter.
